KTM LAUNCHING ASSAULT ON 2009 ATV COMPETITION

Christopher Brenton and Anthony Yewers to spearhead KTM challenge.

Coinciding with the launch of the all new ready to race KTM ATV 505 SX and 450 SX, KTM Australia has announced a new ATV racing team for 2009 headed by two of our countries fastest ATV riders, Chris Brenton and Ant Yewers from Western Australia.

KTM will also have representation on the east coast of Australia with Len Pipiciello from NSW, who will race for the team in selected events, but mainly carry out a technical support role with Chris and Ant.

Reigning WA state ATV champion, Chris Brenton will enter on board the KTM ATV 450 SX in the Pro Class, while Ant Yewers will ride the KTM ATV 505 SX in both the Pro Class and the Vets class, the latter of which he won at the Australian Championship this year. Len Pipiciello will also ride the KTM ATV 505 SX in the Vets class.

The team’s main focus for 2009 will be the WA ATV Motocross Championship, the Tri State Series, and the National ATV Motocross Championship.

Ant Yewers from Bullsbrook, WA comments on his new ride, “The first time I rode the KTM ATV 505 SX, I thought it was amazing,” he said. “It comes complete out of the box as a racing weapon, which most other manufacturers cannot claim, and I can’t wait to race on it.

“My first race with KTM is going to be at the Tri State Series, which I believe starts in March around Albury-Wodonga, and I’m confident of tearing up the track and blitzing the field on this ready to race KTM ATV.”

Just as eager to get behind the bars is young Chris Brenton from Brigadoon WA, who has only been racing professionally for five years, yet has already racked up numerous race wins. “I got second in this year’s National ATV Championship and for next year I’ll be on the KTM ATV 450 SX so I believe I will win,” said Brenton.

“I’m going to start doing some club events around WA to get used to the KTM ATV 450 SX, as they’re a great training platform for national events. I push myself hard at those events by starting last and making it goal to get to first by the end of the race.”

NSW based rider Len Pipiciello from Erina will be supporting both Ant and Chris with testing and technical set up for major racing events, whilst at the same time competing himself in selected events.

“I’m confident KTM is going to be on the podium at every major event with Ant Yewers and Chris Brenton – they’re the best,” said Pipiciello. “I will also enter some races in the Vets class on the east coast, particularly the Queensland State Titles because I won that event this year and want to return to retain my title.

“When I’m not racing my main focus is going to be providing technical support to both Ant and Chris. I will spend some time in WA with them leading up to major events to test set up and suspension and ensure they’re comfortable and ready to go on race day.

“Both Ant and Chris agree not much work will be required, as both the KTM ATV 505 SX and the 450 SX have proven to be race ready straight out of the box, and both guys are already having a lot of fun riding on both Ant’s private track and other local tracks around WA.”
